JELLEY TEAMS UP WITH HIPRO FOR CARRERA CUP

Porsche Carrera Cup GB ace Stephen Jelley has teamed up with nutritional supplements brand HiPro Sport.

Jelley is now carrying the branding of HiPro on his Team Parker Racing-run Porsche 997 Carrera Cup car, starting at Oulton Park, where he raced to third position in both races.

“Nutrition is an area that is set to grow within motorsport,” said Jelley, who has been a race winner in the British Touring Car Championship and the British Formula 3 Championship. “People try to make every last thing perfect on the car, but they neglect the correct things that your body should have inside it.

“Getting the right nutritional balance for race day is vital. HiPro have jumped upon that and thankfully I am going to be the vehicle to show their name.”

HiPro Sport is the sporting arm of Health Interlink, which already backs rugby teams Leicester Tigers and Wigan Warriors, and Olympic athlete Paul McKee.

Health Interlink managing director Glenn Price said: “We’ve been dealing with high-end nutritional supplementation for 15 years or so, but have only been involved in sport for the past two or three years. We’re now broadening that out. A lot of top-end drivers are triathletes and understand the benefits of good nutritional supplementation.”

Price added that the Porsche Carrera Cup’s position on the British Touring Car Championship package, which includes live coverage of races on ITV4, is vital. “Outside of Formula 1 it gets the best coverage of everything,” he said. “Stephen is a seriously clever driver and will be a great ambassador for our brand.”
