Studies show that diets rich in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, brussel sprouts and cabbage can be beneficial to your health.  Researchers isolated a component called Sulforaphane, a natural substance from the seeds and sprouts of broccoli.  Sulforaphane, it is believed stimulates the body’s own protective detoxification enzymes.

All cells in the body need the molecules responsible for preventing oxidation of other molecules, oxidation naturally occurs when oxygen and cells react, this causes the cells to die, and the body will normally create new ones, however sometimes the cells are changed instead and this causes potentially harmful free radicals to develop.  Free radicals in the body can cause death or damage to other healthy cells and tissues.
