Choleast contains the naturally occurring monacolins found in red yeast rice (no relation to Candida). It also contains a number of beneficial phytosterols, isoflavones and trace minerals. The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) has allowed the following health claim for Red Rice Yeast and the monacolin K “these contribute to the normal maintenance of blood LDL cholesterol levels, if at least 10mg of monacolin K from the red yeast rice is consumed daily”.
In easy to take vegetarian capsules this product is suitable for vegetarians, vegans and for people with Candida and yeast sensitivities.
Citrinin is a toxic by product of the fermentation process and Thorne’s Choleast contains an undetectable level of citrinin.
Choelast-900 contains 900mg of red yeast rice per capsule, 50% more than Thorne’s original Choleast.
